When you press Go live, the form suggests an address from your business name. You can change it before you publish.
What an address can contain
- Lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. Nothing else: no spaces, dots, accents or capitals.
- 1 to 48 characters.
- It has to start and end with a letter or a number.
mesa-nueveworks;-mesa-does not.
The form fixes most of this for you as you type. "Mesa Nueve Café" becomes mesa-nueve-cafe.
Reserved names
A few names belong to the service itself: www, mail, email, admin, api, app, nova, pixelpulse, support, help, billing, checkout, login, auth, status, test, staging, and technical ones like ftp, smtp, cdn and ns1. The form lets you type one, but the site does not publish there: you get "site-" plus three random characters instead, such as site-k7q.pixelpulsenova.com. If you want a real name after that, publish again with a different address and the same email and password.
"That address is taken"
It means someone else has a live site at that address. Addresses go to the first person who publishes them, and we do not move them. Add your town or your trade (mesa-nueve-austin) and try again.
If you published it yourself, with the same email, you do not get this message: publishing again replaces your live site with the new version. If the address exists but its site is paused, you get your name with three random characters added.
Changing the address later
There is no rename button. Publish again from the design with the new address and the same email and password. The old address stays up until you ask us to take it down; see Pausing, taking a site down, and deleting your data.
