VANCE-01 // TX400 Julian centering 12 lbs of Georgia stoneware clay on the Shimpo wheel.
Hasselblad 500C/M · Planar 80mm f/2.8 · 1/125s @ f/4 · Kodak Tri-X 400
Julian works without music in a 1920s brick warehouse bay in Reynoldstown. The morning light spills through steel-frame casement windows, turning clay dust into suspended gold particles.
We agreed on zero artificial strobes and zero pose coaching. Over three rolls of 120 medium format film, we documented the complete lifecycle of four stoneware vessels—from weighing raw pugged clay to wire-cutting wet bases off the wheel head.
